The approach of processing straw

In the past, the straw left after harvest, farmers are reluctant to burn in the fields, and then straw is mainly used for cooking at home. Now majority of young people go to work in some coastal areas, leaving the elderly at home with the whole farm. They have no effort to tidy up those straw. Coupled with the briquettes or gas for cooking more convenient and more clean, straw became waste. So now the straw in the fields are basically burned directly.

Burning of straw will bring environmental pollution, soil fertility decline and other issues. It is said that in some places, if farmers do not burn the straw in the fields, the government will give 10 yuan subsidy per mu.

If straw is not burned, rotting in the fields can only be positive. Scientists are now combined with the bacteria to rot staw in the fields into organic fertilizer. Preservatives reminder of this organism is said to have begun to promote the use in a large area.

Popular method now is a new biomass gasifier (also known as straw gasifier ). This gasifier can change all kinds of straw and other crop residues and forestry product processing industry organic waste (such as: bagasse, lees) and other raw materials into clean burning gas by anaerobic sealed of burning. The principle is making the biomass pyrolysis reaction to produce combustible gas at high temperatures and confined under hypoxic conditions, gas by pipeline to the gas stove, using electronic ignition can do some cooking.

The principle  of gasifier is very simple, that is “oxygen combustion”, the firewood will burn up when the ignition temperature is reached, and there is sufficient oxygen, this is our common saying”burning”,  if we adjust the amount of the oxygen to stop the  burning to the state with no fire, it will produce a lot of “smoke”, when will these “smoke” collected, where it becomes the “gas” of. Academically, this is called “pyrolysis”, “cold cracking” or “anaerobic burning.”

Straw can not be burned all in the oxygen combustion process, the less oxygen available, the more combustible components was not burned, the combustible ingredients, including charcoal, volatile gases (CO, H2, CH4), this is the main components of the gas from the straw.  However, this way can produce a very high content of nitrogen, more than 60%, many manufacturers advocated staw gas is more powerful than liquid gas, which is purely a speculation.
